ABOUT SALIX CC
No favourites. Not even the Captain.
It’s true that many of our players join as they know someone in the team already, but that isn’t always the case – several of our current regulars (and a current Captain) have come via the Internet – we are really equal opportunities and will make you feel welcome.
A key feature of our team is the concept of forward planning and rotation – players are asked for their availability 4-6 weeks ahead and if we have too many players then we select teams by dropping random players, even the Captains. So everyone gets an even chance and you don’t have to commit to play every week to get regular games.
That all said, if you say you’ll play we expect you to!
The Annual Tour

One of the standout features of Salix is our annual overseas tour. We take particular pride in playing in some unusual places, mostly to lose graciously but nevertheless having a wonderful experience.
In 2025 we went to Ibiza and this autumn we’re visiting Poland for the first time hosted by Krakow CC.
Our recent trips have included visits to Germany, Croatia, Montenegro, Romania, Cyprus, Italy, France, Hungary and Bulgaria. We really are the perfect guests – bolstering the local economy and losing games of cricket!

v Quokkas CC
A day that slipped through our fingers
Salix's fielding proved costly as Quokkas claimed a 163-run victory at Barnes Elms. Despite an outstanding debut from Thirumegan "Mega" Yogarajah (3-40) and a spirited 22 from fellow newcomer Shelvin Chand, eight dropped catches allowed Quokkas to post 262-7 before Salix were dismissed for 99. The afternoon may not have gone to plan, but there were plenty of encouraging signs from the club's newest recruits and enough optimism to look ahead to next Sunday.

Lost Player, Lost Momentum: Salix Fall to Hetairoi
As Dickie headed to the wrong ground before a ball was bowled, setting the tone for an eventful afternoon at Winchmore Hill. Despite an excellent innings from Raj and early breakthroughs with the ball, Salix ultimately came up short as Heteroi chased down 214 with four overs to spare in a competitive, good-spirited contest.

The safe had a new combination
Three weeks after chasing 241 against the Whalers with remarkable ease, Salix returned to Barn Elms hoping to repeat the trick. Instead, with a makeshift XI featuring two debutants, an emergency wicketkeeper, and several players still finding their feet, they found a Whalers side that had learned from the first encounter. Despite a spirited century stand from Adam Darling and debutant Iftkhar Jalil that briefly revived hopes of another famous chase, Salix ultimately fell 30 runs short in a contest that proved, much like a finely tuned piano, that every part has to work in harmony.
